InnoveraInnoveraMERIDIAN — Entry into medical device markets

The plan

What this analysis decided to write about, settled before it was written. 20 sections, 9 of which the run had to argue for.

Where the run departed from the brief

The summary states content per unit, device prices, market sizes and margins on four different bases within a few sentences. A reader cannot compose them without a conversion, and an appendix arrives after they have built a picture.

Every judgment about where to participate is read against it, and a reader assembling the chain from scattered mentions assembles a different one each time.

The recommendation turns on another party's decision to source externally. That has to be derived from what those buyers compete on, not reported from their current behavior.

Scope was open, so the considered-and-rejected set is itself a finding.

The brief's central trade-off.

Sensitivities and scenarios.

Declared now because the derisking pass will write it; an addition made silently later is how an outline drifts.

Added during the review cycle. The brief lists ten assumptions and marks each as requiring validation, and an assumption tested only implicitly inside another section cannot be checked off by the reader who asked for it. Declared here rather than left as an undeclared heading in the memo.

The brief sets four numeric bars and a decision deadline. The conditions under which the answer flips are what leadership needs in order to act on a call rather than merely receive one.
